  12th century Hunting lodge for the Clifford family. Free entry.
• The Strid
  Literally "the stride", a very narrow 9m section of the river. Historically a cause of death when young men try to jump it and get sucked in by underwater currents.

  Well-known local beauty spot. Named after an 1836 storm uprooted many of the original oaks. A few still remain but natural regeneration has occured
