Woodland features provide evidence for ancient field systems (Iron Age/early Roman) & a 13/14th cent. homestead. In Tudor times (1485–1603) the wood was a deer park, but was converted to beech to cater for Wycombes furniture industry in the 18th century

Restored in 1863 with reputedly the oldest church doorway in Bucks (early Norman). The tower hosts 2 of England"s oldest bells (~1300), while the nave is from 1100. Benjamin Disraelis parents also lie to rest here, beside inscriptions for WWI soldiers.
